John Borland and Rachel Moore lived in Kilraughts Parish, County Antrim, in northern Ireland. Most evidence points to them being William's parents. William lived in Fanid Parish, Donegal County, Ireland before immigrating to Westmoreland County, PA in 1787. He married Mary Anne Magdalena Harrold, the daughter of Christopher Columbus Harrold and Elizabeth Painter in 1798. All of their surviving children can be vouched for in the Will dated 1828 that William left.
